पुनर्वास संस्था भनेको हो ?

पुनर्वास संस्थाहरूले अमेरिकी सरकारसँग मिलेर वर्षेनि विश्वभरका हजारौं शरणार्थीहरूलाई पुनर्स्थापित गर्छन् । तपाईंको पुनर्वास संस्थाले तपाईं पुनर्स्थापित भएको शुरूका केहि महिनाहरूमा तपाईंका लागि खाने–बस्ने जस्ता आधारभूत आवश्यकता र समुदायमा घुलमिल हुने सेवा–सुविधाहरू दिलाउँछन् ।

What Is A Resettlement Agency?

Resettlement agencies work with the United States government to resettle thousands of refugees a year from all over the world. Your resettlement agency will make sure during your first months that you receive the services you need to live and join your new community.

तपाईं र पुनर्वास संस्था

तपाईंको स्थानिय पुनर्वास संस्थाको जिम्मेवारी के हो र पुनर्वासका लागि तपाईंका जिम्मेवारी के के हुन् भन्ने चाहिं तपाईंले बुझ्न आवश्यक हुन्छ । अमेरिका आइपुगेपछि पुनर्वास संस्थाका एक कर्मचारी, तपाईंकै परिवारका एक सदस्य वा तपाईंले चिनेको कसैले तपाईंलाई विमानस्थलमा स्वागत गर्नुहुनेछ ।

You and the Resettlement Agency

It is important for you to understand what your local resettlement agency is responsible for and what you are responsible for in your resettlement. Upon arriving in the United States, a staff person from the resettlement agency, a family member, or other person you know will pick you up at the airport.

पुनर्वास संस्थाले उपलब्ध गराउने छन्:

• अमेरिका आएपछि कम्तिमा ३० दिनका लागि बस्न एक सुरक्षित तथा सफा घरको व्यवस्था गर्छन् । बसोबासको व्यवस्था अल्पकालिन वा दीर्घकालिन हुन्छ । अल्पकालिन भन्नाले स्वयंसेवी परिवारका साथ वा नातेदारका साथ बस्ने व्यवस्था र दीर्घकालिन बन्दोबस्त भन्नाले तपाईंको आफ्नै अपार्टमेन्टको व्यवस्था हुनसक्छ ।

• अत्यावश्यक फर्निचरको व्यवस्था: यसमा सोफा, टेबुल, कुर्सीहरू र बिछ्यौनाहरू संलग्न हुन्छन् । फर्निचरहरू नयाँ वा पुराना हुनसक्छन् ।

• अमेरिका आएपछि खानाको बन्दोबस्त ।

• खाद्य–टिकट (फूड स्ट्याम्प) सेवा, मेडिकेड, सोसल सेक्युरिटी कार्ड पाउन र योग्यता पुगेकालाई सेलेक्टिभ सर्भिसमा नाम दर्ता गर्न सहायता ।

• तपाईंका नानीहरूलाई स्कूल भर्ना गर्न सहायता ।

• रोजगारसम्बन्धी परिचय दिने प्रशिक्षण तथा सहायता, जस्तो: जागिरका लागि आवेदन दिन सहयोग ।

• केहि रकमको व्यवस्था । उक्त रकम एकपटक मात्र भुक्तान हुनसक्छ ।

• वासस्थान, यातायात, शिक्षा, रकम व्यवस्थापन, अधिकार र सांस्कृतिक समायोजनबारे अतिरिक्त तालिम ।

The Agency will provide:

• Safe and clean housing for no less than thirty days after you arrive in the United States. This may be a short-term situation, such as living with a volunteer family or a relative, or long-term, such as your own apartment.

• Essential furniture. This includes a couch, table, chairs, and beds. Furniture may be either new or used.

• Food when you first arrive.

• Assistance applying for the Food Stamp program, Medicaid, your social security card, and selective service (if appropriate).

• Assistance getting health care, seeing a doctor, and getting immunizations.

• Assistance getting adequate clothing. Clothing may be new or donated.

• Help enrolling your children in school.

• Employment orientation and support, such as helping you fill out job applications.

• A limited amount of cash. This may only be a onetime payment.

• Additional orientation on housing, transportation, education, health, money management, rights, and cultural adjustment.

सोसल सेक्युरिटी कार्ड

पुनर्वास संस्थाका सहायताले तपाईं र परिवारका प्रत्येक सदस्यले सोसल सेक्युरिटी नम्बर लेखिएको सोसल सेक्युरिटी कार्ड पाउनुहुन्छ । यसमा लेखिएको नम्बर र कार्ड दुवै महत्त्वपूर्ण हुन्छ । त्यो नम्बर तपाईंको जीवनभर काम लाग्ने नम्बर हो । प्रत्येक व्यक्तिको सोसल सेक्युरिटी नम्बर फरक हुन्छ । एक–अर्कासँग पटक्कै मिल्दैन । यो कार्ड जागिर पाउन, बैंकमा खाता खोल्न, अपार्टमेन्ट भाडामा लिन र अरू धेरै पटक चाहिन्छ । यो कार्ड हराउनु हुन्न । परिवारका सबैको कार्ड सुरक्षित ठाउँमा राखिदिनुहोस् । यो कार्ड अनावश्यक रूपमा कसैलाई नदिनुहोस् । आफ्नो सोसल सेक्युरिटी नम्बर कन्ठ गर्नुहोस् । यो नम्बर स्वास्थ्य सेवा वा अरू धेरै सरकारी सेवा–सुविधाहरू पाउन भरिने फारममा लेख्नु पर्छ ।

Social Security Card

With the help of your resettlement agency, you and each member of your family will receive a Social Security number printed on a Social Security card. The numbers and cards are very important. Your number will identify you for your life. No other person will have the same number. You will need your card to obtain a job, to open a bank account, to rent an apartment, and for many other things. Do not lose your card. Keep all of your family’s cards in a safe place. Do not give your Social Security card to anyone else. Memorize your number. You will need to write it on many forms to receive health care and many government services.

तपाईंको जिम्मेवारी

Your Responsibilities

There are many things that are important for you and your family to do to succeed in the United States. These are very important things to remember. Pay your rent and bills every month. Your rent pays for your housing. Your bills may include paying for electricity, water, telephone, gas, and IOM travel loan.

अंग्रेजी कक्षाहरू

अंग्रेजी कक्षाहरू लिनुहोस् । आप्रवास संस्थाले तपाईंलाई कक्षामा भर्ना गर्न मद्दत गर्छन् । स्थानिय समुदायहरूले यस्ता कक्षा दिनका कुनै समयमा पनि व्यवस्था गर्न सक्छन् । आप्रवास संस्थाले तपाईंको समयसँग मिल्ने अंग्रेजी कक्षा पत्तालगाउन मद्दत गर्छन् । राम्रो जागिर पाउन र समुदायमा घुलमिल हुन सजिलो हुने भएकाले अंग्रेजी सिक्न जरूरी हुन्छ ।

English Classes

Take English classes. The resettlement agency can help you enroll in classes. Classes in local communities are offered at various times of day. The resettlement agency will do its best to help you find classes that fit your schedule. Learning English is important because it will help you get a better job and communicate more easily with people in your community.

रोजगारी

तपाईंले जागिर खान आवश्यक हुन्छ । काम गरेपछि तपाईंले घरभाडा र बिलहरू तिर्नु हुन्छ, खानेकुरा र कपडा किन्नुहुन्छ । एकातिर पुनर्वास संस्थाले दिने सहायता सिमित हुन्छ भने अर्कातिर सरकारी सुविधा तपाईं र तपाईंको परिवारका लागि कम हुनसक्छ । जागिर खायो भने आत्मनिर्भर हुन मद्दत हुन्छ, अनि शिप र अनुभव पनि हासिल हुन्छ ।

Employment

You will need to work. Working is necessary so you can pay your rent and bills, and buy food and clothes. Assistance from the resettlement agency is limited and public benefits may not provide enough for what you and your family need. Having a job will help you be self-sufficient and gain skills and experience.

ठिक समयमा

जागिरका लागि कसैलाई भेट्न र जागिरमा जहिले पनि ठिक समयमा पुग्नुहोस् । अमेरिकामा समयमा पुग्न निकै जरूरी हुन्छ । अबेला गर्नु राम्रो मानिदैन । काममा ढिलो पुग्नु भयो भने तपाईंका हाकिम रिसाउँछन् र यसले गर्दा तपाईंको जागिर जान सक्छ । स्वास्थ्य परीक्षणका लागि तपाईं डाक्टरकहाँ ढिलो पुग्नुभयो भने डाक्टरले तपाईंलाई नजाँच्न सक्नुहुन्छ । अर्कोपटक जाँच्नका लागि उहाँसँग समय मिलाउन निकै गाह्रो हुन्छ ।

Being on Time

Arrive to appointments and work ON TIME. In the United States, being on time is very important. If you arrive late to work, your boss will not be happy and it could cause you to lose your job. If you are late to a doctor’s appointment, your appointment may be canceled and it may be hard to reschedule it.

शिक्षा

तपाईंले छोराछोरी स्कूल पठाउनु पर्छ । अमेरिकामा कानुनअनुसार नानीहरू स्कूल जानै पर्छ । नानीहरू समयमा स्कूल पुग्नैपर्छ । नानी स्कूल पुग्न ढिलो वा गयल हुने भए स्कूलमा खबर गरेर ढिलो हुनु वा नजानुको कारण खुलस्त पार्नुहोस् । स्कूलबाट पठाइएका सबै सूचना पढनुहोस् । त्यस्ता सूचना पढ्न जान्नु हुन्न वा बुझ्नु भएन भने अरू कसैलाई पढ्न अनुरोध गर्नुहोस् ।

Education

Make sure your children attend school. In the United States, all girls and boys are required by law to go to school. Children must arrive at school on time. Call the school to explain if your children are going to be late or absent. Read all notices sent to you by the school. Get assistance if you cannot read them or do not understand them.

आत्मनिर्भर

काम गर्दा आत्मनिर्भर हुन र आफ्ना आवश्यकता पुरा गर्न सकिन्छ । आत्मनिर्भर हुनु भनेको सरकार, पुनर्वास संस्था, स्वयंसेवकहरू वा अरू व्यक्तिमाथि भर नपर्नु हो । जस्तो: तपाईंले काम गर्नुभयो भने आफूलाई खाद्यान्न र लत्ताकपडा किन्न सक्नुहुन्छ ।

Self-Sufficiency

Work towards being independent and providing for yourself. Being independent means not relying on the government, the resettlement agency, volunteers, or other people for assistance. For example, when you have a job, you can buy your own food and clothing.

अध्यागमन कानुनको पालना गर्नु

अध्यागमन कानुनअन्तर्गत रहनुहोस् । अमेरिकामा एक वर्ष बसेपछि तपाईंले कानुनी रूपमा स्थायी बासिन्दाका रूपमा रहन (वा ‘ग्रिन कार्ड’) का लागि होमल्याण्ड सेक्युरिटी विभागमा आवेदन दिनुपर्छ । भविष्यमा अमेरिकी नागरिकता प्राप्त गर्नका लागि अध्यागमन कानुनका पालना गर्नु अनिवार्य हुन्छ । आफ्ना कागजातहरू र प्रमाणपत्रहरूको जतन गर्नुहोस् । यस्ता दस्तावजहरू सुरक्षित राख्नुहोस् र हराउनु भयो भने आप्रवास संस्थालाई तुरून्त खबर गर्नुहोस् ।

Adjustment of Status

Adjust your immigration status. After you have lived in the United States for one year, you need to apply for an adjustment of status to legal permanent resident (or “green card”) with the Department of Homeland Security. Adjusting your immigration status is an important step to becoming a U.S. citizen in the future. Take care of all your papers and documents. Keep them in a safe place and let your resettlement agency know immediately if you lose them.

कागजपत्र

सबै कागजपत्रहरू जतन गर्नुहोस् । ती कागजपत्रहरू महत्त्वपूर्ण हुन्छन् । त्यसैले मिलाएर राख्नुहोस । सुरक्षित राख्नुहोस् । त्यस्ता कागजपत्रहरू – घरभाडा लिंदा घरबेटी र तपाईबीचको सम्झौता–पत्र, खोप लगाएका प्रमाणहरू, औषधापचारका कागजपत्र, आइ– ९४ कार्ड, फोटोसहितको परिचय–पत्र तथा फुड ट्याम्पको सूचना र मडिकेड पाउन योग्य ठहराइएको कागज आदि हुन् । यस्ता कागजपत्र हराए भने पुनर्वास संस्थालाई तत्काल जानकारी दिनुहोस् ।

Documents

Take care of all of your documents and paperwork. Keep your important papers organized and in a safe place. These include your apartment lease, immunization records, medical reports, I-94 card, photo ID, and notices of food stamp and Medicaid eligibility. Let your resettlement agency know immediately if your lose any of them.
